SPR 06: The Amend2 Special Purpose Rifle Series Goes Piston
SPR 06 trades the usual direct-impingement setup for a VKTR VK-1 piston rifle in a brown-and-black camo finish. A ZeroTech Vengeance 1-6 rides a Reptilia AUS mount with an Atibal Solar Tactical Dot offset above it, an Inforce ARC 650 sits out front, and the whole rifle is shot off an Aziak tripod with an Amend2 ARCA plate. Eleven parts, muzzle to stock, all named below.
The Build
Inforce ARC 650 LR-M Modular
The light on the front of the rifle. The ARC 650 puts out up to 1,400 lumens and 90,000 candela with a beam that reaches out to 600 meters, and the LR head adds flood lighting for close quarters. It runs on a rechargeable 18650 or a pair of CR123As, is rated IPX8 and MIL-STD-810H, and is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a Type III hard-coat finish. The Scout thread pattern means heads, tailcaps, and mounts can be swapped as the system grows.

Amend2 × RAZR Mohave-K Handstop
A slim, aggressively textured M-LOK handstop we built with Republic of Arizona Research (RAZR) as a lighter polymer answer to the billet Mohave grip. It gives your support hand a positive place to sit, keeps it out of the way for quick transitions, and bolts to any M-LOK handguard with a rock-solid connection. Rugged nylon construction, black, lifetime warranty.

Amend2 3" ARCA
This is the piece that ties the rifle to the tripod. The Amend2 M-LOK ARCA plate adds ARCA compatibility to any M-LOK handguard, so a leveling head or ball head locks directly to the rifle without clamps or adapters. It comes in 3 and 6 inch lengths, and the 3 inch size keeps the rail short and out of the way. Machined from black anodized aluminum, with the M-LOK cams and screws included.

Aziak Frontcountry Tripod
The same support system we have run under every SPR build so far: carbon-fiber legs that collapse to 22 inches and extend from 4 to 67 inches depending on which of two interchangeable center columns is mounted, rated to 35 lb on a 3/8-16 or 1/4-20 head. Three leg-angle settings and quarter-turn locks make it fast to set up and break down between positions.

Atibal Solar Tactical Dot
A small solar-assisted reflex sight with a 3 MOA dot, mounted offset above the scope for fast close-in work when the optic below is dialed up. Solar power takes load off the CR2032 battery, which is rated for up to 50,000 hours, and a motion sensor wakes the dot as soon as you pick the rifle up. It weighs 2.5 ounces and uses the Aimpoint ACRO footprint, so it works with most third-party mounts and plates.

ZeroTech Vengeance 1-6x24
A 30mm, second-focal-plane low-power variable that runs true 1x up close and 6x when the target is farther out. The RAR illuminated MOA reticle has a segmented shooting circle and 2 MOA hash marks, with six brightness settings and half-MOA turret clicks. A removable throw lever and a locking diopter adjustment round it out. This one wears the flat dark earth finish.

Reptilia AUS Mount (30mm)
Sized for the 30mm tube on the Vengeance, this is the one-piece mount that keeps the optic locked to the rail and returns to zero. Machined from a single billet of 7075-T6 aluminum with a Picatinny interface and an anti-snag spring-loaded steel clamp. Made in the USA, lifetime warranty.

VKTR VK-1
The foundation of the build, and the reason it is a piston rifle. The VK-1 uses VKTR’s patented piston system with a one-piece hard-chrome bolt carrier and an enhanced cam pin, on a forged upper with a thermal-fit, hammer-forged 1:7 barrel and a low-profile M-LOK handguard. Piston guns run cleaner and cooler at the bolt, which is a good fit for a rifle you plan to shoot a lot off a tripod.

Amend2 Straight 20rd 5.56/.300 BLK Magazine
Same reasoning as the rest of the series: the straight 20-rounder’s shorter profile keeps it from lifting your prone position off the deck or hanging up on a barricade edge the way a 30-round magazine can. Amend2 Modular Stock (AMS)
One stock, unlimited options. The AMS uses an M-LOK plate to mount the accessories you choose, from battery storage to a cleaning kit or a lower storage compartment, or you can run it bare for a lightweight setup. Recessed controls, multiple friction features for a wobble-free lockup, a rubberized butt plate, and steel hardware, on a drop-in fit for standard mil-spec buffer tubes.
