SPR 04: The Amend2 Special Purpose Rifle Series Goes Suppressed

Amend2 SPR 04 special purpose rifle build, an IWI Zion-15 in camo with a Griffin Armament suppressor

SPR 04 goes suppressed. This build starts with an IWI Zion-15 wearing a camo finish, runs a Griffin Armament Dual-Lok HRT-5K can out front, and stacks a Swampfox Warhawk 2-10 first-focal-plane scope with an Atibal Solar Tactical Dot offset above it for both precision and speed. Twelve parts, tripod to muzzle, all named below.

The Build

Griffin Armament Dual-Lok HRT-5K Suppressor
01

Griffin Armament Dual-Lok HRT-5K Suppressor

Up front, a suppressor built around Griffin's Dual-Lok mounting system, which indexes between a direct-thrust mount and a taper-lok mount without needing a separate adapter. The HRT-5K runs a stainless and Inconel baffle stack rated for full-auto fire, keeping first-round-cold impact shift low while running cooler than a straight aluminum can. Compact at 5 inches, so it keeps overall length manageable on a shorter upper.

Inforce ARC 650 LR-M Modular weapon light
02

Inforce ARC 650 LR-M Modular WML

Same light we have run across the SPR series: 1,400 lumens and 90,000 candela out to 600 meters from a 6061-T6 hard-anodized body. Runs 2 hours 45 minutes on a rechargeable 18650, or drops in two CR123As for a fast field swap. IPX8 waterproof, MIL-STD-810H rated, Scout-pattern mount for tool-free attachment.

Reptilia 15 inch M-LOK Handguard
03

Reptilia 15" M-LOK Handguard

A free-float handguard built around Reptilia's integrated ARCA rail, so the same handguard that carries the M-LOK slots for the light also doubles as the direct mounting interface for the tripod head, no separate ARCA plate needed at this length. Full-length top rail keeps the Warhawk and offset dot co-witnessed, with aggressive scalloping to shed weight without losing rigidity.

Amend2 6 inch ARCA Plate
04

Amend2 6" ARCA Plate

A compact ARCA-Swiss plate that clamps onto a Picatinny or M-LOK interface, giving a shorter handguard or chassis the same direct tripod-mounting capability as the integrated rail on the Reptilia guard used further up this build. Still on its way to market, so there is no live listing yet. Check back on this page for the release.

Aziak Frontcountry Tripod
05

Aziak Frontcountry Tripod

Same support system we have run under SPR 01 through SPR 03: carbon-fiber legs that collapse to 22 inches and extend from 4 to 67 inches depending on which of two interchangeable center columns is mounted, rated to 35 lb on a 3/8-16 or 1/4-20 head. Three leg-angle settings and quarter-turn locks make it fast to set up and break down between positions.

Atibal Solar Tactical Dot
06

Atibal Solar Tactical Dot

An enclosed-emitter red dot built to solve the two things that usually kill a duty dot: dead batteries and a fogged or cracked open window. A solar panel on top keeps the illumination topped off in daylight, backing up a claimed 50,000 hour battery life, while the fully enclosed housing keeps dust, rain, and stray fingers off the emitter. Mounted offset above the Warhawk, it gives a fast, both-eyes-open option without pulling off the magnified glass.

Swampfox Warhawk 2-10x44 riflescope
07

Swampfox Warhawk 2-10x44

A first-focal-plane precision scope on a 34mm tube, running 2 to 10 power off a 44mm objective so reticle subtensions hold true at any magnification. Illuminated MOA reticle, exposed low-profile turrets built for fast dial-and-hold work, the kind of glass this suppressed build is set up to shoot a PRS-style stage with.

Reptilia AUS Mount
08

Reptilia AUS Mount (34mm)

Matched to the Warhawk's 34mm tube for zero-shim contact and a rigid, repeatable return to zero. Machined from a single billet of 7075-T6 aluminum with a Picatinny interface and an anti-snag spring-loaded steel clamp. Made in the USA, lifetime warranty.

IWI Zion-15 rifle
09

IWI Zion-15

The foundation of the build: IWI's Zion-15, a duty-grade AR platform built in Middletown, Pennsylvania with a nitrided barrel and bolt carrier group, a mid-length gas system, and a two-stage match trigger out of the box. This one wears a camouflage Cerakote finish and gives up nothing in reliability for the suppressed, optics-heavy role SPR 04 puts it in.

Amend2 Straight 20rd 5.56 Magazine
10

Amend2 Straight 20rd 5.56/.300 BLK Magazine

Same reasoning as the rest of the series: the straight 20-rounder's shorter profile keeps it from lifting your prone position off the deck or hanging up on a barricade edge the way a 30-round magazine can. Fiberglass-reinforced nylon construction, smooth side panels for snag-free reloads, drop-free design, made in the USA with a lifetime warranty.

Amend2 Priapus Grip
11

Amend2 Priapus Grip

A vertical grip angle instead of the standard A2-style rake, built to keep your wrist straighter behind the trigger when you are set up prone or off a bag. Ribbed front and rear texture holds up wet or gloved. Fiberglass-reinforced polymer, made in the USA, lifetime warranty.

Reptilia RECC-E Carbine Stock
12

Reptilia RECC-E Carbine Stock

A carbine-length stock built for a fast, repeatable cheek weld, with a cheek riser that adjusts independently of length-of-pull so the sight picture through the Warhawk stays consistent no matter how the stock is set for your build. QD sling cup in the buttpad, compatible with mil-spec carbine buffer tubes, and slim enough not to snag on gear during suppressed, prone work.
