SPR 02: The Amend2 Special Purpose Rifle Series Continues
SPR 02 picks up where SPR 01 left off: seven special purpose rifle builds, each one spec'd out with gear we trust. This one starts from a complete rifle instead of a bare upper, Sons of Liberty Gun Works' LRF Broadsword 18" .223 Wylde SPR ARCA Rifle, then gets dressed out with glass, mounts, and support gear from Steiner, Reptilia, Inforce, Aziak, and RAZR, plus our own Amend2 parts, including the first real-world outing for our Mirage Cover.
The Build
Amend2 Mirage Cover
Wrapping the suppressor at the front of the rail: our own heat cover, built to protect gear and hands during sustained strings of fire. A 1000D CORDURA outer shell with a durable water-repellent finish takes the abuse, backed by a dual-layer fiberglass and silicone inner sleeve that keeps heat off nearby gear. Nomex hook-and-loop straps and a metal tri-glide buckle hold it locked down under recoil. Available in 4.5", 6", and 7.5" to match your can. Not rated for sustained full-auto fire, where heat can build past what the cover, suppressor, or host firearm can take.

Same light we ran on SPR 01: 1,400 lumens and 90,000 candela out to 600 meters from a 6061-T6 hard-anodized body. Runs 2 hours 45 minutes on a rechargeable 18650, or drops in two CR123As for a fast field swap. IPX8 waterproof, MIL-STD-810H rated, Scout-pattern mount for tool-free attachment.

Same support system we spec'd for SPR 01: carbon-fiber legs that collapse to 22" and extend from 4" to 67" depending on which of two interchangeable center columns is mounted, rated to 35 lb on a 3/8-16 or 1/4-20 head. Three leg-angle settings and quarter-turn locks make it fast to set up and break down between positions.

A first-focal-plane scope on a 34mm tube, so reticle subtensions hold true at any magnification. Never-Lost locking turrets click in 0.1 mrad with a resettable zero stop, so returning to zero after a string of shots is exact every time. Waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof, rated from -15°F to 160°F and submersible to 33 feet.

The foundation of the build, and unlike SPR 01, this one starts as a complete rifle instead of a bare upper. An 18" 416R stainless barrel, nitrided, with SOLGW's polygonal 3-groove (P3) rifling and a sub-MOA guarantee on match ammo, sits under a 15.25" L89A handguard with a full-length ARCA interface built in, the same reason our tripod bolts straight on with no adapter plate needed. The Broadsword receiver set behind it reinforces the upper's full profile to stiffen the barrel and optics interface, with a grip tang set back a half-inch for a straighter trigger finger and a right-side bolt release for prone reloads. It ships with a Magpul stock and grip, which we swap here for our own Precision Stock and Priapus Grip below, and it's threaded up front for a suppressor, which is exactly what's riding under the Mirage Cover on this build.

Same reasoning as SPR 01: the straight 20-rounder's shorter profile keeps it from lifting your prone position off the deck or hanging up on a barricade edge, the way a 30-round magazine can.
